Norwich Deaf Festival 2026

What a fun time this was - it was so good to take Matty along to meet folks from the D/deaf community.

There were so many stalls to look round and so many areas of support & learning, I had the best time.

I can't wait for next year's festival!

I had a fabulous time with Nikki Dixon and Softwood Books at Suffolk Sound. Nikki interviewed me on LIVE RADIO, eek! It was okay, though, because I had my partner, Steve, with me for support, and everyone was really kind in helping me to communicate - I even met another deaf person!

Nikki asked all about Matty - she even read the book and loved it - this is what she said:

Just to let you know I've just finished Matty! Absolutely loved it...well done, you 😀 Bella the dog is fabulous!!!"

Back in the spring of 2026, I took Matty to the Bury Deaf Association, and we met the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bury St Edmund's. The Deputy Mayor even bought a copy of the book!

We had a great time and I was able to practise my signing with my D/deaf and HOH friends.
